ELITE LEAGUE FIXTURES RELEASED FOR 2018/19
Date: Jul 22, 2018
Coventry Blaze have added 26-year-old American defenceman Chris Joyaux to their 2018/19 roster.
The Illinois native spent part of five seasons in the USHL before enrolling at Miami University (Ohio) in 2012.
Joyaux went on to feature in 148 NCAA games for the Miam RedHawks across four seasons, helping the college side win the NCAA (CCHA) regular season championship during his first season with the side, and the NCAA (CCHA) championship a year later.
Turning pro following his graduation in 2016, Joyaux played in eight AHL games for St. John’s IceCaps before signing with the Tulsa Oilers prior to the 2016/17 season, also spending the 2017/18 campaign with the ECHL side.
“Chris is a very mobile, puck moving defenceman that plays 200 feet very well. He’s got good size and can play in all situations.” Blaze Head Coach Danny Stewart said.
“He is another guy that comes to us at a good age and is still hungry to get better. He will log lots of minutes for us this season and bring some energy to our line-up, both on and off the ice.
“Finding good solid right handed guys isn’t always easy, and in Chris we feel we have found one."
