Cardiff Devils have confirmed three further returnees from their 2017/18 roster, and one new addition, ahead of the new Elite League season.

British forward Matthew Myers is set to return for an eighth season with his hometown side; with the 33-year-old undoubtedly keen to add to the seven Challenge Cups, five playoff titles and three Elite League championships he has helped win during his pro career, which been split between the Devils and Nottingham Panthers, bar one season in the ECHL.

Fan favourite Layne Ulmer will also be back in red next season, having agreed to return for a third year with the Devils.

Originally signed from Italian side Asiago during the summer of 2016, Ulmer has scored 37 goals and 105 points in 106 Elite League games to date, helping the Welsh side secure two Elite League championships, a playoff title and a Challenge Cup.

Canadian winger Justin Faryna was later announced as the Devils 14th re-signing of the summer, with the 29-year-old proving an instant hit among Cardiff’s fan base following his switch from Dundee last summer - scoring 25 goals in 50 Elite League games during the 2017/18 season.

Hot off the back of confirming their latest returnees, Cardiff also announced that veteran forward Mike Hedden would be joining the club for the coming season.

Hedden joins the Devils following three seasons with DEL side Straubing Tigers, and has also played in the Liiga, KHL, AHL, and ECHL during an impressive career which includes a Calder Cup championship in 2014, as a member of the Texas Stars - Hedden scoring nine goals and 19 points in 21 AHL playoff games to help the Stars lift the trophy.
