Milton Keynes Lightning have confirmed that forward Jonathan Boxill will not be re-joining the club next season.

The 29-year-old leaves the club by mutual consent, as the Buckinghamshire side looks to build on their first season in the Elite League.

Boxill joined the Lightning from Belfast last summer, having spent two seasons in Northern Ireland. He had also previously spent two years with Nottingham Panthers, following his return to the UK in 2013, after four years with NCAA III university New England College.

In 245 Elite League games for the Panthers, Giants and Lightning, Boxill has registered 29 goals and 64 points, helping Nottingham win the Challenge Cup in 2014.

He has also previously represented Great Britain at the IIHF World Championships and in the Winter Olympics Qualifying tournament.
