Glens Falls, NY – The Glens Falls Dragons are pleased announce that Dunwoody, Georgia native and Big East product of Xavier Musketeers, Sam Czabala has joined the campaign of 2018 PGCBL season.

The 6’1 200 pound Big East left handed pitcher joins Cameron Curler’s staff after appearing in two games wearing a Musketeer uniform after being sidelined for the rest of the season during his sophomore year. He kicked off his second year with a bang at Xavier with appearing in four innings and went a career high against Penn State with his final line throwing three innings with striking out one batter and allowing three runs.

During his freshman year, Sam completed the year by making appearances to the mound finishing with 7.2 innings, allowing eleven runs, eight hits, three walks and striking out three. Prior to college Czabala finished his high school career as a two year varsity pitcher posting a 8-1 record in St. Pius X in Atlanta in his home state of Georgia. Recording a high of 58.1 innings in those two years, Czabala also put up two saves and 87 strikeouts and with an ERA of 0.96 to his final line and helping his high school earn their best record in their school history of 29 wins and only four losses. Czabala’s high school finished that year in the state quarterfinals. When not playing baseball Sam is studying in the major of his choice of accounting in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The Dragons will hit the field again in June as they kick off the 2018 PGCBL season, their third as a member of the league. Season tickets are on sale now at $5 per game. Call 518-746-4121 for more information.
