Krpata, Cohen Named Mid-Season All-Stars

Glens Falls- The Glens Falls Bullpen was shining at East Field last night against the Oneonta Outlaws. Led by Queensbury’s Riley Orr (Castleton State), the Dragons notched their first win of the PGCBL season. Orr threw 4 scoreless innings, allowing only two hits and 2 walks while striking out 9. The Dragons were able to strike first in the 4th inning when Reece DeCastro (Castleton State) reached on a double and was brought home on a Martin Marintchev (RPI) single. The game would remain scoreless until the 7th inning when the Glens Falls bats exploded. Reece DeCastro would notch his 2nd double of the game, followed by a single from Eddie Yamin (Dayton). DeCastro would then score on a Jake Sandridge balk. Sean Butkowski (Millersville Univ.) would then be walked to load the bases. Phil Krpata (St. Joseph’s) would then strike a bases-clearing triple to cap off the offensive onslaught of 8 runs. Daniel Cohen (Yale) closed out the game for Glens Falls, striking out all 6 batters he faced. The Dragons will travel to Shuttleworth Park on Monday to try and avenge their opening day loss to the Mohawks before returning to The Cave on Wednesday at 7 PM against the Mohawk Valley Diamond Dawgs.
