Dragons Sign LIU Post Product Zach Fritz

    Glens Falls - NY, The Glens Falls Dragons are pleased to announce that LIU Post product and East Meadow, New York native Zach Fritz has joined Coach Cameron Curler’s team and will wear a Dragon across the chest this upcoming PGCBL season.

The 6’1 first basemen finished up his freshman year representing the Pioneers appearing in 26 games with former Dragons pitcher James Varela and catcher Anthony Vaglica on the diamond with him. Fritz had an impressive impact with Pioneers in his first season wracking in exactly 100 at-bats coming with 26 hits and driving in 24 RBI’s and ending on a high note of driving the ball five times out of the stadium. In his first year the 250 pounder took advantage of extra bags earning himself five doubles and five triples to his impressive .260 batting average.

Majoring in health and science he was also four year starter for his high school team at East Meadow where he helped his team to a Nassau County Class AA title just two years prior to joining LIU. Fritz finished his high school career with a .365 batting average with 108 hits, 60 runs scored, seven home runs and finishing off the stat sheet with 67 RBI’s in a Jets uniform. After his senior season, Fritz was ranked Top-5 in every offensive category all-time in his native hometown of East Meadow.

The Dragons will hit the field again in June as they kick off the 2018 PGCBL season, their third as a member of the league. Season tickets are on sale now at $5 per game. Call 518-746-4121 for more information.
