The Dragons are pleased to announce the signing of Justin Rouse, an infielder from Bellarmine University.
Rouse, from Elizabethtown, Kentucky, will play his first season with the Knights in the spring of 2018 after transferring from Coastal Carolina University, where he missed his freshman year due to injury. The Bellarmine coaching staff feels Rouse is a player who is going to make a big impact on their infield over the next four years.
Dragons manager, Cameron Curler, is also looking forward to Rouse getting back on the field: "Justin is a talented player and I think he will fit in well with what we are trying to do. He had an incredible senior year of high school and there are a lot of people who are excited to see what he's capable of doing now that he's healthy!"
Rouse is a graduate of Central Hardin High School in Kentucky. He was named 1st Team American Family Insurance All-Kentucky by USA TODAY and 5th Region Player of the Year. As a senior at Central Hardin, Rouse hit .461 with ten doubles and three home-runs. He also led his team in runs (56) and stolen bases (36).
Rouse is the first of a few Bellarmine Knight players that will be headed north to Glens Falls for the summer of 2018
