David Parker, Danny Dzhaniyev and Jake LaRusso were all recognized as NAPHL peak performers for the month of October.
Parker, a defenseman for the U16 Titans squad, had an exceptional outing at the showcase in Blaine, Minnesota, as he recorded three goals and two assists in four games. The Morganville, NJ native had a three-point night against Colorado Springs in a 5-2 win, and showed prowess on both sides of the puck in his play. Head coach George Haviland took note of his dominant play throughout October.
"(David) Parker had a strong weekend on the offensive side of the game as a d-man and was involved for sure," Haviland said. "But for me his strongest part of his game was his ability to get control puck protect it and make a play most times he had the puck, which led him to being + 7 over the weekend."
For the U15 team, Dzhaniyev and LaRusso were selected as the first and second stars respectively for the NAPHL offensive peak performers of the month. Dzhaniyev finished the month as the leading scorer in the NAPHL that included seven goals and six assists in the Blaine showcase.
"Danny is very skilled offensive player who makes plays when he has the puck," Haviland said. "His play combined with his speed creates offense for our team that causes opposing d-men to cringe every time he touches the puck."
Haviland had similar words of praise for LaRusso, who has 18 points in eight games.
"Jake had a fantastic weekend!! his ability to transition with speed gave our boys a advantage every time he was on the ice," he said.
The Junior Titans will look to continue their strong performances into November, and Parker, Dzhaniyev and LaRusso will certainly be looked upon to lead the way.
