University of Ottawa to host 2017 CCSA National Championship

The Ontario Intercollegiate Women’s Fastpitch Association (OIWFA) is pleased to announce the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees will play host to the 2017 Canadian Collegiate Softball Association (CCSA) National Championship this fall. The National Championship will head to the nation’s capital for the first time ever as part of the city’s ongoing celebrations of Canada 150. The top eight teams in the country will compete at the RA Centre from October 6-8. Competing teams include: University of Western Mustangs, Brock University Badgers, University of Saskatchewan Huskies, University of Regina Cougars, University of Calgary Dinos, Durham College Lords, St Clair College Saints, and the host University of Ottawa Gee-Gees. A tournament schedule will be available in the coming weeks. The University of Ottawa is one of the founding members of the OIWFA when the league was first formed in 2002 and has competed in multiple CCSA National Championships, highlighted with a silver medal in 2013.
