The Glens Falls Dragons (15-29) fell to the Albany Dutchmen (27-15) 4-2 at East Field Tuesday night.
The Dutchmen got on the board first, notching a run early in the first inning after a pitch bounced behind the plate and allowed a runner to score.
Albany added to their lead in the top of the third with a double from Brandt Holland (North Alabama) that brought in a runner, making the score 2-0 Dutchmen.
The following inning, Colin Kaucher (Ohio Dominican) fired off a homerun, increasing the visiting team’s lead to three runs.
An RBI from Nick Gallo (Oklahoma St.) early in the eighth put the Dutchmen up 4-0.
Glens Falls notched two runs of their own in the bottom of the eighth inning after consecutive RBI singles from Ryan Beamish (Lee) and Phoenix Hernandez (Southern NH) brought the score to 4-2.
The winning pitcher was Greg Marino (Stony Brook), and Justin Bureau (Ave Maria) claimed the save. Will Van Beusekom (Marist) took the loss on the mound.
The Dragons return to East Field on Thursday to take on the Amsterdam Mohawks. The first pitch is set for 7PM.
