Middletown, NJ – The Junior Titans would like to congratulate long-time Titans Goaltender Anthony Stolarz on his NHL debut and first NHL win as the first goaltender from New Jersey to start a game in the NHL had a successful debut vs. the Calgary Flames.

While Stolarz had been called up from the AHL’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms on multiple occasions, he had yet to have the opportunity to see game action for the NHL’s Flyers until last night.  Stolarz, who played for the Titans from his Squirt through Bantam Major years was the backbone of the Titans teams those years as one of the top goalies in the Atlantic Youth Hockey League.  After skating with the Titans for his Squirt through Bantam years, Stolarz ended up with the Corpus Christi Ice Rays of the NAHL, and was drafted in the second round from Corpus Christi.  After his stint in the NAHL, Stolarz started at Division I NCHC School, Nebraska-Omaha before heading to play for the London Knights of the OHL.

Stolarz who had been a stalwart at the Flyers AHL Affiliate Lehigh Valley, had backed up at the NHL level numerous times, until he finally got his first start last night vs. the Calgary Flames.  Stolarz made 29 saves in a 5-3 Flyers win, and picked up his first NHL win in his NHL debut.  The Titans offer congratulations on a job well done in his first NHL start.
