Through a hot, sticky weekend of baseball, the Major Bantam AA Red Sox came through as Champions of the Mississauga Southwest Tournament.

It took 6 games to take the Championship with tons of drama on Sunday.

Barrie got off to a nail bitter of a game vs the Sarnia Braves with a 5-1 win on Friday night.  They followed that up on Saturday with a 9-2 win over Newmarket Hawks and then a romp over the Brampton Royals 18-1 to finish as the #2 seed in the tournament.

Sunday saw the Red Sox face the Newmarket Hawks in the Quarter Final game where the Red Sox walked it off in the bottom of the 7 with an 8-7 win.  The Semi Final saw the Red Sox face a tough LaSalle Titans team in a close fought 3-1 victory.

The Championship Game then brought the Red Sox against a team from Montreal.  Barrie continued its quality hitting, pitching and fielding that got them to the final with a 6-2 win and the Championship.

Players include Jonathon Balah, Matthew Barr, Braedon DeGrace, Kolby Jensen, Cody Marles, Jan Siembida, Bryan Slade, Lucas Shepherd, Shayne Twiss, Owen Teague, Jack Wilson and Mason Walker.  Coaches Jeff Barr, Jim Walker and Eric Pattenden.

Congrats to a great weekend of baseball!!
