The Barrie Red Sox Major Rookie AAA team competed in the West Mountain Cougars Rookie Ball Tournament this past weekend. After a rain delay Friday, the Red Sox started Saturday off slow with a loss to Halton Hills. Trying to bounce back from a tough start to the day, the Red Sox lost to Oakville in walkoff fashion 11-10. The team tied their final game of the day 8-8 against Niagara Falls. Playing in the consolation side of the bracket on Sunday, the Red Sox erupted for a 19-1 win over host West Mountain. That win moved them to the Consolation Final against Welland. Despite a slow start and a two hour rain delay in the third inning, the Red Sox came back with their bats ready to complete the comeback and get a 17-9 win.
