Ranking Period #5 Still Shows 7 SECHL Teams in the top 16
Date: Dec 22, 2025

After 2 consecutive seasons of rebuilding, Coach Brian Boehm finally has a reason to be positive. However, the seasoned veteran has learned over the years not to read too much into rankings. "It is a vindication for guys like Sean Meyer and Brett Dolan who have been on the team and worked their butts off for me for 3 years to finally have a National Ranking to show for their hard work". Coach Boehm then added, "I also think they would be the first to tell you that they are far from satisfied".
While the team has kept only a few veteran upperclassmen like Meyer, Dolan, and Matt Epperly, Trey Bennincosa, Tyler Aune and Matt Strober a majority of the teams offensive explosion this season has come from a talented group of underclassmen. Last season saw the ushering in of talented defensive stalwarts Kenny Knoll and Tyler Richardson along with solid 2 way forwards Brian Dickman, Jason Conroy and Kevin Turk as well as Goaltender Connor Cross ushered in a new era of hockey for the club and a new attitude that immediately meshed with the goals and ideals of Coach Boehm. "What the group has been able to accomplish in my time here is nothing short of miraculous". "We've had obstacles to overcome on and off the ice. These guys took the team on their shoulders and have decided they won't be second class anymore". As the team continued to fight the elitism and exclusivity that defined the Morgatown Hockey culture, Coach Boehm and his staff relied on the recruiting and focused on fundamental hockey and building a champion. Enter the new wave of Mountaineers on ice to merge with the existing members and it all seemed to come together. "You could tell from day one this Rookie class was something to feel good about" Coach Boehm added. "The talent was just waiting to prove that they are a championship team". Rookie phenoms Ryan Agner, Ben Monroe, and Tim Brei have lead the charge and paced this team in its lighting bolt start. Adding depth are forwards Sebastian Dziadowicz who has become a flash on the PK, Defenseman Kevin Arvay, Connor Cox and Ben Mountain have added quality minutes to an improving defensive corp, and Hunter Ivey has helped to solidify a now potent goaltending mix that in previous years had been a weakness. "These guys have proven that true talent and skill is shown on the ice and not in make believe cultures that other teams in town rely on. They are out to prove night in, and night out that they are a championship team" Coach Boehm said, "Butr our work is far from over".
