The SSI Vipiteno Weihenstephan Broncos tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the HC Gherdeina Furie would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-1.

HC Gherdeina took a 3-0 lead during the third period, only to have SSI Vipiteno Weihenstephan storm back on a Tobias Kofler goal 19:24 into the third period to pull to two goals down.

The Broncos were stymied by the Furie netminder Florian Grossgasteiger, who stopped 31 shots during the victory. The solid play of Grossgasteiger will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 3.24.

HC Gherdeina was held back by its power play unit, which tallied one goal on nine chances. The Furie found themselves short handed often, totaling 14 penalty minutes and allowing six power plays.
