SV Kaltern Caldaro Rothoblaas uses shootout to best HC Merano Junior, 3-2 (3-0 SO)

Raphael Andergassen netted the deciding goal for the SV Kaltern Caldaro Rothoblaas Hechte-Lucci in the shootout as Hechte-Lucci prevailed over the HC Merano Junior Adler, 3-2 (3-0 SO).

The shootout featured seven attempts between both teams. In addition to the clincher, SV Kaltern Caldaro Rothoblaas got shootout goals from Andergassen and Matias Loppi.

The Hechte-Lucci came back from a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. SV Kaltern Caldaro Rothoblaas was down 2-1 after a goal by HC Merano Junior's Thomas Mitterer at 10:01 in the third period. The Hechte-Lucci knotted things up at 2-2 on a goal by Steve Pelletier at 15:51 in the third period.

SV Kaltern Caldaro Rothoblaas' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three HC Merano Junior power plays.

SV Kaltern Caldaro Rothoblaas also got points from Loppi, who also had one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for SV Kaltern Caldaro Rothoblaas were Andergassen and Alex Andergassen, who contributed one a piece.

The Adler put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Hechte-Lucci to score on any of their three power plays.

HC Merano Junior additionally got points from Taggart Desmet, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for HC Merano Junior came via Michele Ciresa, who had one.

Martino Valle Da Rin rejected 23 shots on goal for SV Kaltern Caldaro Rothoblaas. The Hechte-Lucci incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. HC Merano Junior's Vincenzo Marozzi stopped 48 shots out of the 50 that he faced. The Adler incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
