The Tulsa Oilers beat Rapid City, 2-1, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout. Tulsa took over the lead for good with a goal by Michel Beausoleil at 9:27 in the first period. David Solway picked up the assist.Beausoleil had two goals to lead the Oilers to victory. Tulsa put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Rapid City to score on any of its three power plays.
