Tim Holmes comes to the Freedom as a right-handed pitcher by way of Catawba College. Holmes played there four years, earning second-team all region honors by the NCBWA his junior year and second-team all-conference honors his senior year along with South Atlantic Conference's All-Tournament Team.

2010: Florence Freedom, Frontier League. Holmes was 3-9 with a 5.08 ERA in 117 innings as a starter for the Freedom.

In 2009 at Catawba, Holmes pitched 65.1 innings, appearing in 21 games. The Bay Village, Ohio native posted a 3.44 ERA and a 7-2 record including 67 strikeouts to 21 walks.
