2016-2017 Hockey Postseason Awards

 

  • #11 - Senior forward Brad Tardif was names to the 2ND Team ALL-NECHL 2017; Brad finished the 2016 -2017 with record highs in Goals, Assists, Points, Games Played, and Penalty Minutes.Brad led the team in point with 30 and was named UB Hockey’s Offensive Player of the Year.

 

  • #15 - Freshman forward Tony Marinelli was named UB Hockey’s Offensive Rookie of the Year, he led the team in goals (20) and power play goals with (7) during the 2016-2017 season, he was also named an Honorable Mention for the ALL – NECHL Team. He led all UB rookies in points and finished 2nd overall on the team in points with 29.

 

  • #8 - Senior defenseman Jake Battistoni was named UB Hockey’s Defensive Player of the Year; As an Assistant Captain Jake led all defensemen in ice time during the 2016 – 2017 season.

 

  • #25 - Freshman defenseman Zach Kurbiel was named UB Hockey’s Defensive Rookie of the Year, he led the team in +/- with a +16 during the 2016-2017 season.

 

  • #28 - Senior forward Eric Paradowski was named an UB Hockey’s Unsung Hero, he was the team leader for the Penalty Kill unit, an important face-off specialist, and an Assistant Captain during the 2016-2017 season. Eric also had career highs in Goals, Assists, and Points. He was also named an Honorable Mention for the ALL – NECHL Team.

 

  • #22 - Freshman forward Colton Anstey was named an UB Hockey’s Unsung Hero, he played in important role in all aspects of the game, Power Play, Penalty Kill, and Even Strength.His tireless effort, willingness to help on and off the ice, and positive attitude did not go unnoticed by his teammates.

 

  • #16 - Junior forward Eric Szczecinski was named an UB Hockey’s Unsung Hero, Eric finished the season 3rd in overall points and 2nd in points per game.As a Captain, he played in every aspect of the game, a true 200 foot player, we was a leader on the PK, the PP, and in the locker room, a lead by example type of player.

 

  • #20 - Freshman forward Austin Pieniaszek was named an UB Hockey’s Most Improved Player, once he was able to earn and secured a spot in the line-up, never relinquished his place on the ice.AP finish 3rd in points for a rookie and 2nd in goals for a rookie.His relentless hustle and this ability to find an open spot in the slot made him a surprising impact player throughout the season.His tireless effort to improve and his willingness to help on and off the ice has made him an asset to the program, and he is one heck of a baker too.

 

  • #12 - Sophomore forward Ryall Ledyard was named UB Hockey’s Most Valuable Player, he was the vocal leader in the locker room and on the ice. He had a career year in goals, a leader in the face-off circle; taking numerous crucial face-offs thru out the season. When Ryall recorded at least 1 point in a game the team went 13-4-1. As a first year Captain he was an integral part in all aspects of the game and played strong in all three zones. He was also named an Honorable Mention for the ALL – NECHL Team.
