Griffin Love knocked in four runs, sparking the Team Charlotte (6-24) to a 7-5 victory in eight innings over the Concord Weavers (10-20) on Saturday at Concord HS.
He singled in the second inning and homered in the fourth inning.The Concord Weavers couldn't get anything going as long as Darrell Render was pitching. The Concord Weavers managed just one hit off of Render, who allowed one earned run, walked one and struck out four during his four innings of work.
Matthew Freeman got on base three times in the game for the Concord Weavers. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He homered in the sixth inning and singled in the eighth inning.
Jerod Jobst improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Team Charlotte. He allowed one run over three innings. Jobst struck out four, walked one and gave up two hits.
