For Immediate Release (Fresno,California) - Your Fresno Monsters launch their "Deke's Stick to Fitness" program which is the first healthy lifestyle initiative in the Western States Hockey League. The program utilizes hockey to promote fitness at local schools in the valley.

The way it works is the Monsters provide a fun, free assembly and Monsters' hockey tickets as an incentive to go outside and play. The program is designed to reinforce the importance and excitement of physical activity plus eating healthy. After the assembly the 5 week program begins. Each student is required to complete 30mins of physical activity, 5 days a week, over the course of 5 weeks. Once that student completes the program they recieve 2 free tickets to a Fresno Monsters home game.

"The Monsters staff has been working hard to delevop the program this off-season. Our goal is to use hockey as a fun way to teach children the importance of a healthy lifestyle and getting away from the computer to go outside and play again. We hope to develop this program over the next couple of years with local school districts and have it become a great tool for teachers to use" said Director of Sales James Karr.
