The Peoria Mustangs were firing on all cylinders against the Cincinnati Swords, and when the final buzzer sounded Mustangs emerged with a 4-1 win.
Nathan Scofield was all over the ice for Peoria, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Scofield scored the first of his two goals at 4:26 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Peoria. Austin Wisely assisted on the tally. Scofield's next tally made the score 4-0 Peoria with 5:39 left in the third period. Andrew Scofield picked up the assist.
The Mustangs' Nicholas Piech was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 26 saves and let only one puck past him. Piech managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 3.4 prior to the game.
Peoria's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Cincinnati power plays. The Mustangs' offense rang up 32 shots on Cincinnati's net.
Peoria additionally got points from Scofield, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Peoria also got a goal from Kai Barber as well. In addition, Peoria received assists from Jack Power Wayvon and Marshall Gevers, who contributed one each.
Peoria incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Swords' James Schroeder stopped 28 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Cincinnati incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
