The Chatham Anglers (10-9) beat the Orleans Firebirds (11-9) 9-7 on Thursday at Veterans Field behind Landon Cray, who went 2-4.
He singled in the fourth innings and doubled in the eighth inning.David Thompson had two extra-base hits for the Orleans Firebirds. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the fifth and ninth innings.
Kyle Davis improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Chatham Anglers. He allowed one run over 1 2/3 innings. Davis struck out two, walked one and gave up two hits.
Jacob Cronenworth was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked two, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
