Pioneers Add MLB Draft Pick to Pitching Rotation
Date: Dec 4, 2013
The 2013 version of the Lehigh Valley Katz struggled to a 9-31 record last summer. They are obviously hoping that this coming summer season will be a much better one for the ACBL franchise. In hoping for a great 2014 season, the Katz are bringing back a key infielder from the 2013 summer season.
Lehigh University middle-infielder Mike Garzillo will return to the Valley Katz this summer. Mike is currently a 5’11” sophomore from Wind Gap, PA. He is coming off a pretty successful 2013 campaign in which he hit .273, with 15 doubles and 23 runs for the Mountain Hawks.
Like many Valley Katz last season, he had a tough summer season. He hit .217, with 4 doubles and 15 runs scored. He also stole six bases this past summer.
Mike will be a key contributor for the Valley Katz this 2014 season.
