Pioneers Add MLB Draft Pick to Pitching Rotation

Nick Corbin is currently a 6’1”/190 pound right-handed pitcher from Bridgewater College in Bridgewater, VA. He spent this past summer pitching for the Staunton Braves of the Valley Baseball League.
As a Staunton Brave, Nick went 1-1 and had a great 1.37 era in 19.2 innings of work. He appeared in 13 games, made 1 start and saved 5 games for the Braves. He walked 7 batters and fanned 17 during this summer. He also made one start for the Braves in the VBL playoffs.

Summer Baseball Insider---Who was your favorite baseball player when you were younger?
Nick Corbin---Cal Ripken Jr.
SBI---What were some of the best things about playing for the Braves this past summer?
NC---It was by far the best baseball team I have ever played for. Being on the field with players who possessed such talent was an awesome feeling, and will never be forgotten.
SBI---What are some of your personal goals for this upcoming season at Bridgewater College?
NC---My goal is to have a great season and get drafted. If I don’t get drafted, then I will try out for independent ball.
SBI---What is your favorite baseball movie?
NC---Field of Dreams
