Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Russia defeated the Lake Tahoe Blue in a shootout 2-0. The shootout featured two attempts between both teams.Lake Tahoe's Mark Visentin could not handle what Russia threw at him, as Russia netted its goals off of two. Russia's offense revolved around and Kirill Rasskazov, who put and one shot on net. In addition, Russia received assists from Grigory Zheldakov and Pavel Kulikov, who each chipped in one. The Blue allowed the opposing goaltender to relax, launching only one shot on goal to force one save. Team.mascot's final shot tally was well below the team's average of 4.9 pucks on net per game. Lake Tahoe was led by Sam Carrick, who took one shot. Russia ended with no penalties and went 0-for-0 on the power play. The Blue finished the contest with no penalties and went 0-for-0 with the man advantage. |
