The Lake Tahoe Blue took the lead against Russia in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 3-1 victory. Lake Tahoe took over the lead for good with a goal by Mark Scheifele at zero seconds in the first period. Seth Griffith provided the assist.The Blue were sparked by Griffith, who tallied one goal and one assist. Griffith scored zero seconds into the third period to make the score 2-0 Lake Tahoe. Michael Dunn picked up the assist. Lake Tahoe also got a goal from Scott Harrington as well. In addition, Lake Tahoe received assists from Jamie Oleksiak, who had one. Russia was led by Vladislav Kartaev, who scored the team's only goal. Kartaev scored zero seconds into the third period to make the score 2-1 Lake Tahoe.
