Skate for Chase

Date:  Source: East Coast Eagles Hockey Association

Chase Williams is a 10 year old boy who plays on the Eagles Squirt team.  He has Type 1 Diabetes and has to constantly monitor his blood and take shots of insulin when needed throughout the day. To monitor his blood he has to prick his finger and draw blood several times a day, so his machine can measure his sugar or insulin count then he needs to take a needle.

I know what Chase and his parents go through because my son also has Type 1 diabetes and has since he was 9 years old.  It is a disease that kills and it is time a cure was found for this disease.  Researchers are close but still need funding and this is where you can help.

The East Coast Eagles Organization are behind CHASES WALK FOR A CURE AND THE SKATE-A-THON FOR CHASE.  The Skate-a-thon will take place this Wednesday at the Cary Ice House at 5:30-6:30pm and you can download the sponsorship form here.  How the skate works is skaters will go out and get sponsors for a monetary amount for every lap they skate.  No amount is too small or large.  For those of you who would like to go on CHASES WALK FOR A CURE YOU CAN GET THAT INFORMATION BELOW HERE.  If you want to just sponsor you can do that as well.  After the skate on Wednesday you can get a chance to meet Chase and his parents as they will have some pizza and drink after the skate for participants.  The Eagles Juniors players will also be skating and present at the Skate on Wednesday in Cary.  We hope that everyone can help whether it be by participating or just donating what you can to this cause.  On behalf of my family, the Williams family and all those who suffer from Diabetes I thank you.
