Redbirds welcome stout forward Tony Campise!
Date: Jul 27, 2020

The Illinois State Redbirds welcome Kaleb Peterson to the family! Peterson, a 5’11” 175 lb forward and defenseman is our newest Hometown Product from Bloomington, IL. Last season, he had a successful season playing for the Bloomington Thunder.
Peterson joins the Redbirds following a successful season with the Thunder. He is undecided on which major he will choose at ISU. His Grandpa has been his biggest supporter and Kaleb is excited to carry on his hockey career close to home. His favorite Coach is Chris Prewitt for being an all around great guy. He brings siblings Josh, Jake, and Luke to the Redbird fan club.
Peterson’s favorite hockey memory was a recent NIHL Championship this past season. He played a big part in the success leading the team in scoring in NIHL and lead the NJPHL in scoring with 46 points in 26 games played.
“Kaleb is a great kid and a passionate hockey player. I was fortunate to coach Kaleb when he was still finding a passion for the game and I’m excited to see him grow in our organization. Each year his dedication to the game has shown with on-ice improvements. We expect this to continue at ISU and become a contributor on D1 in our long term plans for him.” -D1 Head Coach Bobby DiNardi.
The Redbirds are building to make a run at their first ACHA D1 conference title in 2020-2021, as they play their second season in the Midwest College Hockey conference. ACHA D2 looks to return to the MACHA Championship. ACHA D3 looks to take a championship in their inaugural season in MACHA. For more information on the conference, click here.
