BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — The Bloomington Thunder have acquired Regen Cavanagh and two 2017 Phase II draft picks from the Sioux Falls Stampede in exchange for Mitchell Mattson.

In the trade, the Thunder received the third overall pick and a third-round pick in addition to Cavanagh. Cavanagh split his rookie season in the USHL between the Dubuque Fighting Saints and the Stampede. In 55 games, Cavanagh had eight goals and 23 total points.

The trade came prior to the start of the 2017 USHL Phase II Draft, which began on Tuesday, May 2 at 8 a.m. Follow the draft live here.
