Whitefish Wolverines excited for return of Riley Ingalls

The Wolverines weren’t fortunate enough to secure a spot on their roster at the beginning of the 2014-2015 season for ‘95 forward Riley Ingalls. Ingalls started his season playing in Sweden. He returned home mid-season after he spoke to one of his former teammates  who was playing  goalie for the Whitefish Wolverines. Riley was encouraged by what he heard, and the rest is history.

Riley arrived in Whitefish in mid November and felt a real connection with the team almost instantly. “We were like family in the dressing room; we were a close group of guys,” commented Ingalls. Riley is excited to return to Whitefish for his last year of juniors, and he’s wanting to make it a memorable one. He  wants to see the team collect wins, but he’s also looking to be a player who is dependable, a good sportsman, and someone any of his teammates can turn to for advice on and off the ice. “I really think Riley could have a big year; he’s fast, strong, and dedicated,” head coach Joakim Falt explained.

Riley intends to take the positives he learned during last season and carry those over to the upcoming season. “I’m looking to be more defensively sound and a bigger threat on the offensive zone,” expressed Ingalls. When Riley first arrived in Whitefish, he quickly learned Falt was old school in his approach. “Coach is hard-nosed, but he makes you a tougher player and better prepared on the ice,” Riley stated, “and I wouldn’t want it any other way.”

“Riley showed great attitude the first day in the locker room. He was definitely an asset to the team, and I’m looking for Riley to be a leader on and off the ice this coming season; he’ll need to lead by example,” Coach Falt said. The entire Wolverines’ community is excited and looking forward to another year with Ingalls.

Riley is hoping for a long and successful season. He really enjoyed playing in Whitefish last year and expressed that he wouldn’t want to play for any other team his last year of juniors.
