Farmer's goals lift Decatur Blaze to 2-1 victory over Michigan Ice Dogs

Behind a great game by Dylan Farmer, who had two goals, Decatur Blaze defeated Michigan Ice Dogs, 2-1.

Farmer's tallies came at 8:40 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and 10:23 into the third to make the score 2-1 Decatur Blaze.

Decatur Blaze was led by goalie Matthew Hatcher, who finished with 25 saves while allowing one goal. Hatcher certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.23 entering the contest.

Decatur Blaze kept Michigan Ice Dogs' goalie busy throughout the game, and Christopher Boyd made 38 saves on 40 shots.

In addition, Decatur Blaze received assists from Duncan Irvine, who had one.

Michigan Ice Dogs was often in penalty trouble, totaling six minors and one major for 47 minutes in penalty time. Michigan Ice Dogs had been averaging 20.0 minutes in penalties per game. Michigan Ice Dogs excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.
