Ice Dogs lose Saturday in TC

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. - First-place Traverse City scored eight in the first period and the Hounds took a 13-3 win over the Michigan Ice Dogs Saturday afternoon at Centre ICE for their second straight this weekend.

Clayton Dowlan tallied two goals and two assists, Patrick Rogowski scored three goals and Cam Givens scored twice with an assist.

Scott Luca, Greg Meuser and Jan Voves added a goal and two assists apiece, while Kevin Hansen, Grant McCormack and Kevin Cole scored one each.

Blake Anderson tacked on four assists, Stan Swiderek three assists and Austin Flores and Andrew Dzierwa two helpers apiece.

Hounds’ goaltender Justin Abdelhak made 27 saves and also drew an assist on Luca’s goal.

For the Ice Dogs, Dallas Fritz, Marc Rotondo and Spencer Godin scored and Jacob Dugan and Chris Boyd combined on a 37-save effort.

The two teams wrap up the three-game series Sunday at 1 p.m.
