Monarchs defeat Ice Dogs Friday night

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - Tory Shand and Anthony Wojciechowski each tallied two goals as the MC Monarchs routed the Michigan Ice Dogs 9-2 Friday night at the Farmington Hills Ice Arena.

Shand added three assists and Wojciechowski chimed in with two assists of his own.

Bryce Peplinski and Alex Anderson each went for a goal and two assists and Derrick Treppa added a goal and an assist for the Monarchs, now in a first-place tie with Detroit atop the league standings.

Jarrad Vroman and Adam Jonak tallied two assists apiece and Andrew Robinson and Justin Session scored one each in the win.

Monarchs’ goalie Tyler Skulley made 41 saves.

Gordie Sparks and Spencer Godin (pictured) supplied the Ice Dogs’ goals and Chris Boyd and Jacob Mulka combined on a 32-save night.

The weekend finale between these two clubs goes Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
