Alliston survives Penetang comeback, wins 3-2

The Penetang Kings tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Alliston Hornets held on for a 3-2 victory.

Alliston made the score 3-0 on a goal by Mitch Livingston at 17:39 in the first period, and Penetang got as close as 3-2 when Matt Cochrane scored 19:27 into the third period.

The win gave the Hornets a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.

Alliston got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

The Hornets were helped by Matt Hamilton, who registered one goal and one assist. Hamilton scored 22 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Alliston. Gianluca Pallotta assisted on the tally. Alliston also got points from Pallotta, who also grabbed one goal and one assist.

Alliston was unable to stop the Kings from sending pucks towards the net, and Penetang eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

Penetang additionally got points from Matt Prucha, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, Penetang received assists from Craig Robinson, Nate Archer, and Ben Sly, who each chipped in one.

Tyler Brindle recorded 35 saves for the Hornets. Alliston incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Kings' Andrew North stopped 27 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Penetang incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
