Ancaster beats Pelham 7-3 as Hilton gets hat trick

A hat trick by Jesse Hilton was the highlight in Avalanche's 7-3 win against the Pelham Panthers.

Hilton got on the scoresheet 10:39 into the first period. He then added goals at 6:17 into the second and at 8:23 into the second.

The Ancaster Avalanche pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 34 penalty minutes.

Ancaster stifled Pelham's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Avalanche forced the Panthers goalie Tyler Caruana to work between the pipes, taking 58 shots. Ancaster outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, the Avalanche average 3.9 goals per contest.

Ancaster also got points from Reilly Webb, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Ancaster also had goals scored by Max Balinson, Lucas Pozzobon, Cole Nagy, and Jack Wismer Apm, who each put in one. In addition, Ancaster received assists from Zach Lawrence, Fedor Gordeev, Ryan Knill, and Owen Burnell, who each chipped in one.

Pelham could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 46 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Panthers were helped by Jeffrey Venzon, who registered one goal. Venzon scored 6:21 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Ancaster. Zachary Plumb picked up the assist. Pelham additionally got points from Dylan Cancilla, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Pelham also got a goal from Liam Little as well. More assists for Pelham came via Mitch Rossit, Bryce Hoggard, Caleb Mussat, and Brandon MacKinnon, who contributed one each.

Cole Ceci made 19 saves for Ancaster on 22 shots. The Avalanche registered one goal on seven power play opportunities. Caruana rejected 51 shots on goal for Pelham. The Panthers registered zero goals on six power play opportunities.
