The Sarnia Legionnaires, who led by three goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by the Brampton Bombers and clinched a 5-3 victory. Sarnia led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Legionnaires' Sam McCormack scored on the power play at 8:34 in the second period to put Sarnia up 4-1. Ryan Trottier had one goal and two assists to lead the Legionnaires. Trottier scored 3:00 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Sarnia. Ethan Dupont provided the assist. Sarnia bested its season scoring average. The Legionnaires average 2.6 goals per game. Sarnia capitalized on Brampton's penalties, netting two goals while skating with a man advantage. Others who scored for Sarnia included Ryan Vendramin, Jarret Marks, and Brandon Layman, who scored one goal each. In addition, Sarnia received assists from Hunter Tyczynski, who had two and Jacob Stos, Brett Storr, and Konnor Roskovich, who contributed one each. The Bombers' offense rang up 38 shots on the Legionnaires' net. Brampton was led by Mitch Shennette, who tallied one goal and one assist. Shennette scored 14:57 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Sarnia. Carmine Vietri picked up the assist. Brampton also had goals scored by Cameron Cruickshank and Nick Kiriakos, who each put in one. More assists for Brampton came via Justin Coles, who had one and Conor Thomson, who had two. Shane Battler rejected 35 shots on goal for Sarnia. The Legionnaires incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors. Jason Rhynold recorded 16 saves for the Bombers. Brampton incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. For the Bombers, Ramon Lopez was ejected from the game.
