Stratford rips Pelham, 7-2

The Pelham Panthers had trouble finding ways to stop the Stratford Cullitons, which beat Panthers, 7-2.

Cooper Stahl was all over the ice for Stratford, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Stahl scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 10:55 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Stratford. The Cullitons had gotten the advantage when Pelham's Marcus Brydon was sent off for head contact. Joe Leahy assisted on the tally. Stahl's next tally on the power play made the score 5-0 Stratford with 1:41 left in the second period. A high sticking penalty on Jesse Burger had put Stratford on the power play. Josh Higgins picked up the assist.

The Cullitons excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Stratford forced the Panthers goalie Corey Foster to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. The Cullitons found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, Stratford averages 4.6 goals per contest. The Cullitons got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Stratford also got points from Tyson Baker, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Stratford also had goals scored by Justin Graham, who had two and Deven Kropf and Jared Nash, who each put in one. More assists for Stratford came via Brock Heshka, Jack Scanlan, Quinton Haddock, Hayden Broomhead, Nathan Templeman, and Drew Gross, who each chipped in one.

Pelham could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 40 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Panthers were led by Bryce Hoggard, who finished with one goal and one assist. Hoggard scored 17:51 into the third period to make the score 6-1 Stratford. Burger assisted on the tally. Adam Petric also scored for Pelham.

Stratford's Carson Poulin stopped 14 shots out of the 16 that he faced. The Cullitons incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Corey Foster made 34 saves for Pelham on 41 shots.
