LaSalle falls to Kitchener in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

The Kitchener Dutchmen's Adam Kawalec scored 3:09 into overtime to beat the LaSalle Vipers, 5-4 (OT).

Kitchener's penalty kill excelled, as the Dutchmen gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays.

Kitchener forced LaSalle goalie Eli Billing to work between the pipes, taking 52 shots.

Kitchener additionally got points from Connor Cole, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Kitchener also got a goal from Jeremy Kuehn as well. In addition, Kitchener received assists from Logan Schmidt, who had two and Marselis Subban and Matthew Cruickshank, who each chipped in one.

The Vipers kept the Dutchmen's goalie busy throughout the game, and Cossimo Lazzarino made 27 saves on 31 shots. LaSalle could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Vipers were helped by Connor Rosaasen, who had one goal and one assist. Rosaasen scored 17:16 into the first period to make the score 3-2 Kitchener. Manny Silverio picked up the assist. LaSalle also got points from Silverio, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for LaSalle included Eric Kirby and Nathan Veres, who each put in one. More assists for LaSalle came via James Brooks, Brendan McGhee, and Dalton Langlois, who contributed one each.

Kitchener incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Billing rejected 47 shots on goal for LaSalle.
