The St. Marys Lincolns tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Welland Jr. Canadians would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 5-3. Welland made the score 5-2 on a goal by Nathan Ferris at 7:38 in the third period, and St. Marys got as close as 5-3 when Jared Lindsay scored 9:50 into the third period. Chad Maurice had one goal and three assists to lead the Jr. Canadians. Maurice scored 19:55 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Welland. Nathan MacDuff provided the assist. Welland bested its season scoring average. The Jr. Canadians average 2.6 goals per game. Others who scored for Welland included Caleb Ambrosio, Jack Fitzgerald, and Cole Hamilton, who scored one goal each. More assists for Welland came via Brayden Crowder and Tyler Stranges, who contributed one each. The Lincolns were led by Graham Brulotte, who finished with two goals. Brulotte scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 6:52 into the first period to make the score 1-1. St. Marys had gotten the advantage when Welland's Nicholas Boehmer was sent off for too many men. Nathan Smith assisted on the tally. Brulotte's next tally on the power play made the score 2-2 with 13:11 left in the second period. Nolan King picked up the assist. In addition, St. Marys received assists from Tristan Gallant, Dan Cloutier, Brent House, and Trent Dundas, who each chipped in one. Chris Janzen rejected 20 shots on goal for the Jr. Canadians. Welland incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Jr. Canadians ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Matt Martin was ejected from the game. The Lincolns' starting goalie, Paul Town, made 19 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Ryan Langford, who stopped four shots. St. Marys incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
