Fort Erie holds on for 4-3 win against St. Catharines

The St. Catharines Falcons tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Fort Erie Meteors would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-3.

Fort Erie made the score 4-2 on a goal by Ben Evans at 2:23 in the third period, and St. Catharines got as close as 4-3 when Cole Langan scored 10:00 into the third period.

The Meteors got the win with help from a great game by Evans, who had one goal and two assists.

Fort Erie additionally got points from Danial Singer, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Anthony Passero, who also had one goal and one assist, and Holden Garlent, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Fort Erie were Paolo Sivilotti, who had one and Cole Cameron, who had two.

The Falcons struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as they finished the game with 24 penalty minutes for seven opposing power plays.

St. Catharines was helped by Mitchell Webb, who registered one goal and one assist. Webb scored 2:04 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Catharines. Tyler Jackson assisted on the tally. St. Catharines also got points from Jackson, who also tallied one goal and one assist. In addition, St. Catharines received assists from Anthony Postiglione, who had two.

Brayden Lachance recorded 25 saves for Fort Erie. The Meteors incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Joel Horodziejczyk made 16 saves for the Falcons on 20 shots. St. Catharines registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. For the Falcons, Jackson was ejected from the game.
