The Stratford Cullitons and the Guelph Hurricanes skate to 2-2 (OT) tie

Even though Stratford's Maverick Petrie netted two goals and Rob Grant ccontributed two points, the Cullitons was held to a tie by Guelph,.

Stratford excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Cullitons could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Stratford averages 4.5 goals per game. The Cullitons' offense rang up 40 shots on the Hurricanes' net.

Other players who recorded assists for Stratford were Josh Higgins and Drew Gross, who each chipped in one.

Guelph put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Stratford to score on any of its six power plays. The Cullitons were unable to stop the Hurricanes from sending pucks towards the net, and Guelph eventually piled up 33 shots on goal.

The Hurricanes were helped by Corson Searles, who finished with one goal. Searles scored 2:52 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Guelph. Ryan Waterhouse picked up the assist. Cameron Stokes also scored for Guelph. More assists for Guelph came via Sebastian Stangherlin, who had one.

Alexander Brooks-Potts rejected 31 shots on goal for Stratford. The Cullitons incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Jason DaSilva made 38 saves for Guelph on 40 shots. The Hurricanes incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Guelph ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Stefano Pezzetta was ejected from the game.
