The London Nationals' Kevin Madden had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 4-1 win over the St. Marys Lincolns. Madden scored at 5:17 into the second period to make the score 2-0 London and again while 19:13 into the third to make the score 4-1 London.London's penalty kill excelled, as the Nationals gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays. London stifled St. Marys' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Nationals' offense rang up 43 shots on the Lincolns' net. London's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Nationals finished with 34 penalty minutes. London additionally got points from Scott Dorion, who also had one goal and one assist. London also got a goal from Tanner Ferreira as well. In addition, London received assists from Derek Di Iorio, who had two and Scott Goodman, Rai Di Loreto, Jordan Di Cicco, and John Adams, who contributed one each. St. Marys excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Lincolns were led by Jeff Schrattner, who scored the team's only goal. Schrattner scored 18:19 into the third period to make the score 3-1 London. Mike Tuffin assisted on the tally. Zack Weir rejected 17 shots on goal for London. Emanuel Vella made 39 saves for St. Marys on 42 shots. The Lincolns incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. |
