Reed nets hat trick, leads St. Thomas to 7-2 win over Lambton Shores

Jake Reed lifted the St. Thomas Stars to a 7-2 victory with a hat trick against the Lambton Shores Predators.

Reed's first goal came 11:43 into the second period. He then added goals at 1:09 into the third and at 5:52 into the third.

St. Thomas forced Lambton Shores goalie Anthony Hurtubise to work between the pipes, taking 52 shots. The Stars bested their season scoring average. This season, St. Thomas averages 4.1 goals per contest.

St. Thomas additionally got points from Matt McJannet, who also registered one goal and two assists and Carson Brookshaw, who also tallied two goals and one assist. St. Thomas also had goals scored by Alex Turko and Kyle Dawson, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for St. Thomas were Carson Moniz, who had two and Matt MacPherson, Lucas Mastroianni, Nathan Ferris, Gage Stephney, and Cal Horvat, who each chipped in one.

The Stars were unable to stop the Predators from sending pucks towards the net, and Lambton Shores eventually piled up 38 shots on goal.

The Predators were helped by Noah Lambe, who finished with one goal. Lambe scored 11:01 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lambton Shores. C.J. Kusch picked up the assist. Lambton Shores also got a goal from Matthew Philip as well. More assists for Lambton Shores came via Franco Sproviero, Ethan Sarfati, and Andrew Kim, who contributed one each.

Dan Black made 36 saves for St. Thomas on 38 shots. The Stars incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Hurtubise recorded 45 saves for Lambton Shores. The Predators incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
