Waterloo falls to Elmira in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Elmira Sugar Kings pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Waterloo Siskins on a clutch goal by Ethan Skinner.

Jeff Jordan had two goals to lead Elmira to victory. Jordan found the back of the net 6:25 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Elmira and again while on the power play 7:08 into the third to make the score 3-1 Elmira.

Waterloo's seven penalties came back to haunt it, as the Siskins let up four goals while on the penalty kill.

Waterloo was unable to stop the Sugar Kings from sending pucks towards the net, and Elmira eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

Elmira additionally got points from Skinner, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Alex Peterson, who also had one goal and one assist, and Zac Coulter, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Elmira were Jake Moggy, who had two and Quinten Bruce, Mackenzie MacSorley, and Kevin Fitzpatrick, who each chipped in one.

The Siskins kept the Sugar Kings' goalie busy throughout the game, and Jonathan Reinhart made 33 saves on 36 shots. Waterloo could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 34 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Siskins were helped by Jared Lindsay, who registered one goal. Lindsay scored 15:00 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Anthony Pullicino assisted on the tally. Waterloo also had goals scored by Andrew Lane and Gary Mantz, who scored one goal each. In addition, Waterloo received assists from Thomas Haffner, who had two and Drayton Duckett, Owen Kipke, and Brett Schaefer, who contributed one each.

Elmira incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Mitchell Datz recorded 33 saves for Waterloo. The Siskins registered one goal on four power play opportunities.
