The Stratford Cullitons and the Elmira Sugar Kings skate to 2-2 (OT) tie

Stratford trailed Elmira by two in the second period, but the Sugar Kings did not give up and the game ended in a tie.

The Cullitons could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Stratford averages 4.5 goals per game. The Cullitons forced Elmira goalie Jonathan Reinhart to work between the pipes, taking 49 shots.

Stratford was helped by Zach Van Louwe, who grabbed one goal. Van Louwe scored 14:57 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Elmira. Justin Graham assisted on the tally. Stratford also got a goal from Hayden Broomhead as well. More assists for Stratford came via Jack Scanlan and Josh Miller, who contributed one each.

The Sugar Kings stifled the Cullitons' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Elmira was helped by Mackenzie MacSorley, who registered one goal. MacSorley scored short handed 6:06 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Elmira. The Sugar Kings were on a disadvantage when Kalob Witzell went off the ice for hooking. Reinhart picked up the assist. Rob Kohli also scored for Elmira. In addition, Elmira received assists from Zac Coulter and Kevin Fitzpatrick, who each chipped in one.

Alexander Brooks-Potts made 26 saves for Stratford on 28 shots. The Cullitons incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Reinhart recorded 47 saves for Elmira. The Sugar Kings incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
