Stratford trailed Elmira by two in the second period, but the Sugar Kings did not give up and the game ended in a tie.

The Sugar Kings were on a disadvantage when Kalob Witzell went off the ice for hooking. Reinhart picked up the assist. Rob Kohli also scored for Elmira. In addition, Elmira received assists from Zac Coulter and Kevin Fitzpatrick, who each chipped in one.

Alexander Brooks-Potts made 26 saves for Stratford on 28 shots. The Cullitons incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Reinhart recorded 47 saves for Elmira. The Sugar Kings incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
