LaSalle outlasts Leamington, 3-2

The LaSalle Vipers gutted out a close 3-2 win against the Leamington Flyers.

No lead was more than one goal during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Cale Allen at 6:12 of the third period.

Allen had a great game for LaSalle, netting two goals.

The Vipers stifled Leamington's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Tyler Russell also scored for LaSalle. More assists for LaSalle came via Daniel Beaudoin, who had two and Michael Ruttinger, Manny Silverio, and Blake Jones, who each chipped in one.

The Flyers' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five LaSalle power plays. Leamington was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 24 penalty minutes.

The Flyers were helped by Scott Florence, who finished with one goal. Florence scored 6:00 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Mitchell Crevatin picked up the assist. Leamington also got a goal from Cale Phibbs as well. Other players who recorded assists for Leamington were J.P. Grineau, Zach Guilbeault, and Dallas Pereira, who contributed one each.

LaSalle's Eli Billing stopped 26 shots out of the 28 that he faced. The Vipers incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Michael Barrett made 22 saves for Leamington on 25 shots. The Flyers registered zero goals on three power play opportunities.
