Huge game by Evans boosts St. Catharines over Pelham, 10-2

Jake Evans was all over the ice for the St. Catharines Falcons, as he tallied four goals and two assists in St. Catharines' 10-2 win over the Pelham Panthers.

Evans' first goal came 9:29 into the second period. He then added goals at 13:26 into the second, at 17:20 into the second, and at 13:07 into the third.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 19:54 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

The Falcons racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with eight minors and one major for 41 minutes in penalty time. St. Catharines had been averaging 26.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Falcons excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. St. Catharines kept Pelham's goalie busy throughout the game, and Stephen Harvey made 46 saves on 56 shots. The Falcons bested their season scoring average. St. Catharines has scored at the pace of 4.2 goals per game during the current campaign.

St. Catharines additionally got points from Justin Felker, who also tallied one goal and three assists and Nicholas Dozzi, who also racked up two goals and two assists. St. Catharines also got a goal from Owen Green as well. In addition, St. Catharines received assists from Tyler Hildebrandt, who had three, Cole Langan, Romaeo D`Intino, and Jamie Bennett, who contributed one each, and James Guest, Brandon Cercone, and Anthony Postiglione, who each chipped in two.

The Falcons were unable to stop the Panthers from sending pucks towards the net, and Pelham eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

The Panthers were led by Thomas Young, who finished with one goal. Young scored 18:18 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Pelham. Zachary Plumb picked up the assist. Adam Petric also scored for Pelham. Other players who recorded assists for Pelham were Jesse Burger, Caleb Mussat, and Jeffrey Venzon, who contributed one each.

Cameron Gray made 29 saves for St. Catharines on 31 shots. The Falcons registered one goal on four power play opportunities. For St. Catharines, Tyler Jackson was ejected from the game. Pelham ended with 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors and two majors. Team's Burger and Young were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
