Huge game by Garlent boosts Fort Erie over Ancaster, 6-2

Holden Garlent was all over the ice for the Fort Erie Meteors, as he tallied two goals and one assist in Fort Erie's 6-2 win over the Ancaster Avalanche.

Garlent's tallies came at 11:58 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Fort Erie and 1:41 into the third to make the score 4-1 Fort Erie.

The Meteors outdid their season average for goals scored. This season, Fort Erie averages 3.7 goals per contest.

Fort Erie additionally got points from Danial Singer, who also finished with three goals and one assist and Anthony Passero, who also had one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. In addition, Fort Erie received assists from Bryce Martin, who had three and Brayden Lachance, Paolo Sivilotti, Dakota Miskolczi, and Ben Evans, who contributed one each.

Ancaster was held below its usual level of production. The Avalanche average 4.1 goals per game. Ancaster's offense rang up 31 shots on the Meteors' net. The Avalanche were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 24 penalty minutes.

Ancaster was helped by Jesse Hilton, who racked up one goal. Hilton scored on the power play 5:09 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Fort Erie. The Avalanche had gained a power play chance when Miskolczi was whistled for tripping. Fedor Gordeev provided the assist. Ben Hughes also scored for Ancaster. More assists for Ancaster came via Michael Pollice, who had one and Ryan Knill, who had two.

Lachance recorded 29 saves for Fort Erie. The Meteors totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 3-for-6 on the power play. Fort Erie ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Troy Henley was ejected from the game. Cole Ceci rejected 21 shots on goal for Ancaster. The Avalanche registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
