Niagara Falls boosted by Dentico's play in net, beats Caledonia 2-1Haldimand Center Sat, Feb 13, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
A stellar performance between the pipes by Adam Dentico helped the Niagara Falls Canucks defeat the Caledonia Corvairs, 2-1. Caledonia's power play was ineffective against Niagara Falls' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. The Canucks were led by Matthew Marsden, who registered one goal. Marsden scored 11:53 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Niagara Falls. Frank Pucci provided the assist. Niagara Falls also got a goal from Peter Falivena as well. More assists for Niagara Falls came via Thomas Flack, who had one and Sean Farquharson, who had two. The Corvairs' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Niagara Falls power plays. Caledonia could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Corvairs average 5.8 goals per game. Caledonia forced Niagara Falls goalie Dentico to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots. The Corvairs could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 36 minutes in penalties during the game. Caledonia was led by Blake Luscombe, who scored the team's only goal. Luscombe scored on the power play 1:17 into the third period to make the score 1-0 Caledonia. Todd Ratchford assisted on the tally. The Canucks' Dentico stopped 38 shots out of the 39 that he faced. Niagara Falls incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Mark Sinclair rejected 27 shots on goal for the Corvairs.
